MOBILE, Ala. (WALA)– A typically quiet Mobile area on edge after a shoot-out on their street. It happened Sunday night around 6:30 on Byronell Drive South off Azalea Roadway.
“I can’t think this is occurring … is what I was believing,” said an eyewitness. “My hubby and I were working in our backyard. We heard what we believed were fireworks, however it was in fact gunfire towards the end of the street. Initially it was at least 6 or 7 shots fired.”
The eyewitness, who does not want to be determined, states by the time she made it to the front window– they were at it again shooting an additional 10 rounds– one suspect equipped with two guns.
“He had 2– one in each hand, “said the eyewitness. According to the eyewitness, 2 suspects in a more recent design dark silver Nissan Rogue– exchanging gunfire with
an individual driving what appears to be a little black sedan.
Several neighbors called 9-1-1.
By the time Mobile Authorities arrived– the suspects were long gone. And while they had plenty of eyewitness accounts– officers could likewise watch it play out on their own– the entire weapon battle was caught on surveillance video cameras at the entryway of the neighborhood.
“The majority of certainly worth the investment. I’m so happy our property owner’s association decided to get these security electronic cameras. We never ever anticipated it would be utilized for this,” said eyewitness. “I hope they are caught and prosecuted. I just don’t want to see somebody hurt or eliminated. Normally we have kids out playing … thankfully no one was outdoors since an innocent onlooker could have easiy been eliminated.”
FOX 10 News is working to get a copy of the monitoring video. We are told by a witness who saw the surveillance video– the Nissan Rogue was struck with several bullets and appeared to have an out of state tag.
