The unit closed 3 insurance coverage fraud cases, two in East Baton Rouge Parish and one in Livingston Parish.
On July 28, LSP troopers detained 33-year-old Kentrell Collins of Mobile, Al. on charges of filing or preserving incorrect public records and insurance scams. Collins supposedly filed an incorrect police report, declaring products were taken from an apartment or condo where he no longer lived. According to authorities reports, Collins reported the theft to American Bankers Insurance coverage with falsified invoices. A warrant was gotten for Collins on July 21 and he surrendered to LSP on July 28. He was reserved into the EBR Parish Prison.
The 2nd case in EBR included the arrest of 66-year-old Alvin Vallery of Baton Rouge, on charges of forgery of a certificate of insurance. Cops say Vallery filed fraudulent certificates of insurance coverage for his service, Vallery Landscaping, with BXS Insurer. The investigation revealed Vallery sent fraudulent insurance documents to bigger corporations declaring he was insured with BXS Insurance Company. He surrendered himself to State Authorities on August 3 and was reserved into EBR Parish Prison on two counts of forgery of a certificate of insurance coverage.
In Livingston Parish, cannon fodders detained 36-year-old Gerald Toussaint of Denham Springs on July 31 on a charge of car policy insurance scams. Authorities say Toussaint filed a number of deceptive vandalism claims with Farm Bureau and Liberty Mutual Insurance companies, declaring his 2012 Ford F-150 was vandalized.
