The 49ers on Thursday signed 2 more wide receivers with NFL experience– Kevin White and River Cracraft– to offer fresh legs to a tired position group.
The 49ers’ problems at pass receiver began shortly after the club’s virtual offseason program concluded. And their issues have not let up.
Deebo Samuel and Richie James sustained June injuries that landed them on the non-football injury list at the opening of training camp.
The 49ers hope Samuel will be back from a fractured foot for the start of the regular season. The club anticipates James to spend a minimum of the very first six games of the regular season on the non-football injury list with a fractured wrist.
Then, the 49ers lost Jalen Hurd to a torn ACL before he even stepped on the practice field.
“Three of the people that we intended on playing with, we lost before we even started playing,” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said.
Currently, novice receiver Brandon Aiyuk is sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring stress.

[49ERS EXPERT PODCAST:Listen to the current episode] The new additions are thought about long shots, at best, for the 49ers’53-man roster. However Shanahan said he hopes White and Cracraft reveal they can supply
the team with NFL-caliber insurance coverage.”You got to keep bringing other men in to assist spell those legs,”Shanahan stated.”Each time you do bring men in to assist do that, we’re hoping that we’re generating some NFL gamers.
“You’re not just generating legs, but you’re generating people that you wish to deal with and spend time with who have an opportunity to assist our group if they’re much better than people we got or if they get
an opportunity due to the fact that of injuries.”Presuming Samuel is cleared for the start of the regular season, he, Aiyuk, Kendrick Bourne and Trent Taylor are locks to make the group.
