MOBILE, Ala. (WALA)– Mobile Authorities have actually confirmed that Officer Blake Duke has actually resigned after an investigation was introduced into an off-duty occurrence.

This marks the second examination into an off-duty occurrence involving Duke this year. MPD would not reveal details concerning the second event.

On Feb. 19, Duke was put on desk task and gotten rid of from patrolling the streets following an event where it was reported that he used physical force while detaining a suspect.

The suspect was identified as 53-year-old Howard Green Jr. of Mobile. A spectator video reveals the officer arresting Green and putting him inside a patrol car– at one point putting Green, who was limited in handcuffs, into an obvious chokehold after knocking him into the side of the automobile.

At that time MPD said, “as a result of the investigation there was a determination of policy violations. The administrative procedures established that Officer Duke, in addition to the on-scene supervisor, had devoted offenses that were irregular with the policy and treatments of the Mobile Authorities Department, according to the department.”
